Way to beautiful for January!

Yesterday I had the day off so I could do some subbing (I have to do a few days each year to stay active). I ended up with a half day and was home by noon, so we got to spend some awesome family time out on a GREAT day to do it!

First, we went to lunch at Scotty P's

That was good, but it was just too nice out to do nothing. So we made a last minute decision and headed out to the Zoo! It was the PERFECT day and since school was in, there was almost no one there. I have never been to the Dallas zoo. I've always heard Fort Worth was one of the nicest in the country so I never saw reason to try Dallas, but I was wrong. Not only is Dallas easier to get to, but I actually like it better. We were SO close to so many animals. We were also there during feeding time and got to see alot of activity. It was perfect! Lincoln was most excited to see the elephants on the way there- but since we got to feed and pet the Giraffes, they ended being his favorite!

The zoo closed at 4 and we headed home, we stopped at a park for some fun while we waited to have dinner.

This was the best use of a day off!

Recents...

Lincolns favorite thing to do at the mall is eat Sbarros (no- its not shopping!)- every time we go he wants "pizza", here he is enjoying a breadstick (ranch is required for anything he eats there!)
Santa left a can of silly string in his stocking, once he figured it out he loved it- for the 30 seconds it sprayed before running out!
We have created a monster! Is my child the only one who goes shopping on YouTube? He watches all kinds of toy reviews and then decides he has to have the toy- he is currently expecting two Jokers from imaginext because a video he watches shows a boy playing with two (one is not acceptable!) Its bad- not sure what to do about it.
Lincoln- watching the Phineas and Ferb movie with his Phineas and Ferb movie Perrys :)

Ho Ho Ho

We were ready for Christmas early this year! I had our tree up the week before Thanksgiving and it snowballed from there. We also had Lincs pic taken with Santa the week before Thanksgiving, just getting around to posting. I really need a scanner but for now- Iphone pics will have to do.

Fun at the Gaylord

We took Lincoln to the Gaylord last night to see the lights, I have to say it was far less exciting than last year- but it was a Monday. He still had some fun though, and we ate at the Riverwalk Cantina which made me feel like I was in San Antonio for a minute :)

RIP Jasper

Jasper has been with us for 12 1/2 years, almost as long as I have known Joey. We knew he was getting old and one day we would lose him, today we did. He started having seizures and we took him to the vet who said there was little we could do. We didnt want to let him continue to suffer so we had him put to sleep. Its a sad sad day, for me especially.

Recently...

Lincolns 3 yr school pic, he is still only going to MDO once a week, but he LOVES it. I am sure he will enjoy going 2 days next year- and I am hoping that gets him ready for Kindergarten the year after- really? 5 days a week for 8 hours, I dont see how I will survive!
Sometimes, on Saturdays Lincoln and I have lunch with Joey at work. I thought this was the cutest thing! Never to early to learn Daddys business- haha!

Halloween 2011

I CAN NOT believe it is already November! Is it too soon to put up the Christmas Tree??? HAHA, Lincoln has had an interesting Halloween... first we took him to the Family Fun Fest at our church and realized he is permanently scared from a previous bad bounce house expereince, he had a meltdown at the festival when we tried to get him to go through one.
He almost got into the whole "trick or treat" thing, until we approached a house with a motion sensor screaching cat that freaked him out, after that he just wanted to go home. We went to 5 houses in our neighborhood (which apparently is a really good neighborhood to be in, EVERYONE was out passing out candy). He got half a pumpkin full just from those 5 houses!
Plus, since we live on the corner of a still under construction street we didnt get a single trick or treater once we were home- so we also have a FULL bowl of our own candy too (just what i need!)
